Job Overview

• Position: School Custodian (25-30 hrs./wk.)
• Location: Three Lakes Academy, Curtis MI
• Pay Rate: [Starting pay is $16.06/hr.]
• Schedule: Afternoon or evening shift, some mornings for snow removal

Position Summary

Our school needs a dependable School Custodian to keep our building clean, safe, and orderly for students, staff, and visitors. You will perform routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and event setups.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning & Sanitizing: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors. Clean and stock restrooms daily. Empty trash and recycling bins.
• Facility Upkeep: Dust surfaces, wash windows, and replace light bulbs. Clean up spills promptly to maintain safety.
• Event Support: Set up and tear down tables, chairs, and equipment for school and community events.
• Safety & Security: Unlock and lock doors as scheduled. Report repair needs or safety hazards to the head custodian or principal.
• Grounds Assistance: Help with basic seasonal outdoor upkeep, such as clearing ice and snow from walkways when needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of safe cleaning chemicals and proper equipment use. Good communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude around students and staff.
• Background Check: Must pass a standard school district background check.
